Coach Angela Masini Ottmann
Going into their 16th season, the Varsity Ponderosa Poms/Dance still remain tops in the State! Undefeated last year, they have earned 6 State Championships, 5 Academic Championships and 6 Runner Up titles in Colorado. Additionally, they are recognized within the top five in the Nation! They recently traveled to San Diego, attending an Elite camp with other top national teams earning another bid to the National Championships in Orlando in 2009.
This year, our teams' slogan is "Game ON! Take a Chance.Hearts Win".emphasizing to do our personal best at all times and to dance from the heart. We constantly are finding the balance between being a quality dancer AND being a quality person. Our energy is driven behind providing quality entertainment to our audience.and representing Ponderosa HS with class.
Currently, Angela is the President of CSCA (Colorado Spirit Coaches Association.) She is a nationally accredited adjudicator, an advisor of the C.H.S.A.A. Spirit Committee, and a previous advisor for the National Federation Interscholastic Spirit Association. In 2009, she earned her fifth Continental League Coach of the Year title and was awarded the NFSA National Coach of the Year in 2002.
Additionally, Angela is an Event Producer for such championships as the "New Spirit Cheer/Dance Championships" at Park Meadows, and "SpiritFest" hosted at Elitch Gardens. These events target high school and all-star programs to compete
in the spirit sector representing the state of Colorado.
Angela has a M.B.A. from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, with an emphasis in Marketing. She is happily married to Athletic Director, Tim Ottmann.the love of her life! Together they have three beautiful children, Casey (22), Jake (19) a Ponderosa graduate and our tiny dancer, Karli (8 years.) Our current addition is our new puppy, Izzy, the dog. |
